An Inexpressible Gift

The Infinite became finite. The Creator became a creature. He (who made all things out of nothing) was born of a woman. He (whom the heavens cannot contain) was contained in the narrow womb of a woman. The bread of life was hungry. The water of life was thirsty. The greatest rest was weary. The greatest joy was sorrowful. The greatest fury and the greatest favor met at the cross. The greatest hatred and the greatest love were manifested at the cross. Infinite justice was satisfied and infinite mercy was secured at the cross. We're enriched by His poverty, filled by His emptiness, exalted by His disgrace, healed by His wounds, comforted by His pain, and justified by His condemnation.

"Thanks be to God for his inexpressible gift!" (2 Cor. 9:15).

Beauty-full. Your paradox-like comparisons sound like a chapter right out of Valley of Vision, love it! Maybe a daily advent post now??
